And what are we doing on such a fine Holiday as this ? A traditional day of Gardening and the Lasagna for dinner… nothing better than fresh pasta lasagna
MMMMM… Yummy !!
We need to get the squash and melons planted again… and I want to do a 10 foot wide 150 foot swath in front of our fence in Sunflower
Just dreaming of the birds that will bring this fall in to watch !!
Oregon’s summer can be very unpredictable … Never know if we will be sunny and hot or Rainy or just over cast day after day. That is what we have been getting so far this summer after a very wet late spring… Overcast
Not great for crops but there is time right ?
I thinned the radish beds and fed them happily to the goats and bunnys. Waste not want not here at the Estate of Disarray
A little lettuce that was headed to seed went to the chickens.
Then Wandered the place with Allison looking at the chores in the flower beds… a Few are going to just be ditched, Dig out what can be saved and have my husband till them again. Wild fennel has taken over much and though it is very fun to play whip with fennel and we now smell terrific !! They are a bit unsightly
Sometimes I just have to sit back and thank the powers that be I live in such a wonderful place… the weather has been miserable, rainy wet and soggy
My Squash was lost to root rot and I have replanted in the green house. What would a summer be without fresh Zuchini ?
So today I will remember to stop and smell the roses !! I hope you do too
Today has been a day of Tidying and thinking about self management. Something I am not very good at…. and when the mess piles up I find I am not able to focus on any one thing and because I still want to work so what I do is crochet more… and the pile keeps growing !! Crocheting is my mindless work no real though I can grab it and go. I don’t have to find my beads or clean off my desk. Don’t get me wrong My space is fairly organized… when I dig it all out
So what is it that I need to do ? What am I going to try and do this summer ? Number one is kids will be home… so there is 4 hours of morning work as a family to do any cleaning that needs to be done, work in the garden, Divide perennials, take care of the animals. Prep food for the day and Canning. There will be trips to do upick. After these work hours it is then time for actual work… now I would love to say it will be 5 days a week but… it is summer
We love to swim in the river, go to the beach and travel up into the mountains.
Sigh… till tomorrow more thoughts will come.
